What Is the Best Way to Start a Blog?

Share with Family & Friends

There are several ways to make money online which I will cover many of them including what is the best way to start a blog.

If there is one thing we can all can take away from 2020 it is the fact working from home is here to stay. COVID plus the internet has changed the face of business forever.

And those that don’t adapt will no doubt get left behind picking up the scraps.

It took COVID to show employers all the benefits of having their employees work from home, do you think they want to go back?

Sure, some will find going back to the old way is necessary like service workers however the majority is finding they are saving so much space they are downsizing their work area. They also get to save on power, furniture even the computer.

They also have less trouble finding workers due to parents having to stay home. Many can even adjust their work schedule to suit their home situation.

So, if you are going to work from home, why not work for yourself?

And the biggest blockage is they don’t know what they can do to make money.

I have plenty of reviews of programs where you can learn to make money.

For example, if you are a writer

… A great way to explore your creativity as a writer is to start a blog and once you learn how to monetize that blog you will discover how to make a nice little side income from your own writing.

I don’t know about you but I find that to be fascinating.

If you’re a writer or someone who enjoys writing what a perfect way to get paid while doing what you love.

That is why I started a blog and I get to help people which I love to do as well.

So if something I write helps someone or they learn something that helps them then all my efforts are so much more worthwhile.

What Is A Blog?

The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines a blog as a website containing personal reflections, comments, hyperlinks, videos and photos supplied by the author. What Is the Best Way to Start a Blog? - Man taking a video

The word blog has actually been shortened from the original “weblog” that allowed early users to “log” the events of their day in a diary or journal style.

Blogs often allow readers to comment, which as they gained popularity, began to establish communities.

Initially, a blog was a discussion or informational website published on the web, often in a diary or journal-style of writing. posts are typically shown in reverse chronological order meaning that the most recent post shows first.

Typical of most things on the web, many entrepreneurs saw the marketing potential in blogging and businesses started jumping on-board and creating blog-based websites.

Once videos on youtube gained popularity many bloggers started using video as a medium and video blogging or “vlogging” was born.

Totally predictable of all things internet based, blogging and vlogging has evolved into a lucrative marketing tool for businesses and can even be used as a viable business in and of itself.

The Difference Between A Website And A Blog?

Simply put, blogs are a type of website.

The biggest difference is that blogs are frequently updated with new content which of course is displayed in reverse chronological order (latest post showing first).

Typical websites are more static in nature and content is usually organized by pages and are not updated as frequently.

Blogs can also be a part of a larger website.

It is becoming more popular for businesses to have a blogging section that is frequently updated keeping their customers informed and educated on what’s new and current within their business.

Why Do People Blog?

The simple fact is that each blogger has his/her own reasons for blogging.

For some, it is a way to get their thoughts out of their head similar to a diary or journal.

For others, it is a method of exploring their creativity and is a fun way to exercise that entrepreneurial spirit in them.

Some businesses use blogging as a means to educate their customers, share news and reach a wider audience.

And others use it to share news, give instructions, or offer help in various ways.

What Are The Benefits Of Blogging?

There are many benefits of blogging and here is just a few:

  • Provides a method to organize your thoughts and ideas
  • Allows you to showcase your skills, talents and creativity
  • Helps an individual become an authority within their industry
  • Helps you socialize with like-minded individuals online
  • potential to make money using various monetization methods
  • businesses can use blogs to potentially reach a larger audience increasing their customer base
  • Non-profits use blogs to raise awareness, run social media campaigns and influence public opinion

Our Blogs

What Is the Best Way to Start a Blog? - our blogs

My husband and I are business partners as well as life partners.

Currently, we have two blog based websites:

  1. grand-parenting-type-1-diabetic.com
  2. veteransaffiliatesuccess.com (this one)

I absolutely love writing and regularly write for both websites.

My husband is much more technically inclined so he takes care of the technical side. He does write as well.

Having both of us writing content gives our readers some variety in the content they are reading especially since we tend to have a slightly different writing style and help our readers in different ways.

What Is The Best Way To Start A Blog?

The best way to start a blog depends on your goal.

Are you blogging simply to share your thoughts and ideas?

Or are you looking to monetize your blog and potentially create an income stream from it?

If you simply just want to share your thoughts or ideas then find a blogging platform and just start.

It really is that simple, nothing fancy.

Looking To Monetize

However… if your goal is to ultimately monetize your blog(make money) then I would highly recommend getting some quality training.

We started with a well-recognized company that has been in the business for 16 years and has taught thousands to become successful at blogging.

Adding ContentWhat Is the Best Way to Start a Blog? - new content

Once you are up and running, it is important to keep your site current by adding regular content.

We try to post 2 new articles on each website per week.

This doesn’t take that long to do and it doesn’t feel like work at all.

You get to meet plenty of other bloggers which you all share advice about each other’s sites. The community is just awesome to be a part of.

In fact, I am quite content sitting here writing as we have a raging snowstorm going on outside and it doesn’t affect me at all.

I don’t have to commute anywhere and I can work from the comfort of my home or anywhere I choose for that matter which happens to be in front of a nice warm fire.

Market

As with any business, successfully making money requires marketing.

There are many courses available online to teach you marketing if you choose however you will get all that you need just from this program.

They will teach you marketing and where to find free traffic to visit your website. They will also help you set up your site for ads where Google will pay you for allowing them to place ads on your site.

They will also teach you strategies such as creating email lists for retargeting your visitors.

You will also learn how to use other platforms such as Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram and others to boost your exposure to your website or even create a video to take advantage of Youtube.

You don’t have to do everything or even at once. As you learn and grow you can expand. The main goal is to build your site and be happy doing it. If you are enjoying what you are doing, you will keep doing it.

Add income streams

As with any business having multiple income streams increases your profitability.

There are several ways to make income from your blog:

  • affiliate marketing (Sell other peoples products on your site)
  • Google Adsense   (Allow Google to place ads on your site)
  • creating your own information products (ebooks, courses etc.)

Why not learn to incorporate all these methods?

    • Good day to you Brianna. So I take it you do enjoy writing, well, if that is the case then you will have no problem with blogging and I would encourage you to give it a try. The way I outlined in my article is the best way to get into blogging because they teach you everything you need to know and you can give it a try for free but the big benefit is that the cost is very affordable with this program I recommended.

Even the best writers need training because you have to learn to write in a way your readers will enjoy reading it. The only ones who have the most trouble writing are those that write for a living like school teachers etc. They write a little too formal and have to learn to relax it a little which don’t take long to do.
The training will take you through all the steps so don’t worry about getting it right or perfect, it will work anyway.
I urge you to give it a try, you will never know until you do right?
Besides, I will be on the inside to help you anyway.
I wish you all the best, take care now.

  1. I had no idea blogs were once known as weblogs! I enjoyed this post as a blogger myself I’ve been blogging for a couple of years. My blog is in the cat niche, a topic I really love, especially as I have a cat:) I monetise through Amazon Associates, and Ezoic, as well creating my own designs for dropshipping. You’ve outlined the best way of starting out really well, and I agree, the company you mentioned is the best!

Thank you so much for dropping by and I wish you all the best with your blogging business.
